At Gear4music we're hosting a Digital Piano Fair on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th August at our headquarters in York (Postcode: YO26 6RB). This special free event gives you the opportunity to experience first hand some of the leading digital pianos on the market. We'll have some fantastic deals available on many of digital pianos over the two days - come and visit us at the fair and see how much you can save.

At the fair we will be exhibiting some of the best digital pianos from Casio, Korg, Roland and Yamaha, as well as our own brand of great value Gear4music instruments. We have pianos ideal for use at home or on stage, as well a special selection of digital Grand pianos.

In addition to our own team of knowledgeable piano experts, we will have piano specialists on hand from Casio, Korg, Roland and Yamaha to give you the right advice on what piano will best suit your needs. As well as providing help and recommendations, the team will provide detailed demonstrations of the pianos.

Digital Piano Demonstrator Biography: Casio's John Henderson

John is very much ‘Mr Casio’ having worked for the company for over 14 years, visiting and advising Casio dealers across the North of England, Scotland and Ireland.

His musical background is mainly Guitar and Saxophone and views his keyboard skills very much as his ‘third’ instrument. However, Johns knowledge of the Casio keyboard and digital piano range is outstanding and he is be able to help and advise customers about any aspect of Casio musical instruments.

John has played in bands since he was 18 years of age and describes his musical taste as very broad, covering Classical through to Rock music.

Digital Piano Demonstrator Biography: Casio's Christine Taylor

Christine has been involved with music all of her life, learning to play piano and keyboard from a very young age. The family business was a music shop in Lincoln and Christine became a full time partner in the store from 1979 until the year 2000.

This gave Christine a unique insight and understanding of customers and helping them find the right instrument for their needs. Christine joined Casio in the summer of 2000 and used this valuable experience to help a network of Casio dealers across the UK.

Christine now works as a freelance demonstrator for Casio and combines this with both teaching keyboard students and her other passion in life – driving. She is currently training to be an advanced driving instructor.

Digital Piano Demonstrator Biography: Korg's Anthony Sawdon

As a Music Technology expert I have always been interested in the way that technology products interact creatively and musically together and with other media. After completing a Higher National Diploma is Music technology I went on to manage music stores and Hi-Tech departments for 5 years which led me to Korg.

Korg have always made very innovative, stylistic products and never seem scared about making something different. This is what sets us apart as a team, never expect the expected, and always expect the best. Music technology is about having the setup that you envisage in any way, shape or form.

Digital Piano Demonstrator Biography: Korg's Paul Thirkettle

Paul has a breadth of experience in the Musical Instrument industry. Starting his career as a shop assistant in his local music store, Paul progressed through his musical training and eventually secured a place as band leader on board a prestigious luxury cruise liner.

Following a number of years entertaining on several ships, Paul returned to the UK to take up a position as Area Sales Manager with the Electronic Musical Instruments Division of the global electronics company, Panasonic / Technics.

After 20 years in the industry Paul now works for Korg UK Limited, with a team of highly skilled and talented musicians, engineers and business people from across the globe, to help deliver some of the best musical instruments available today.

Digital Piano Demonstrator Biography: Roland's Barry Dallman

Barry Dallman has been performing music professionally for the best part of 20 years in a wide variety of musical genres.

A classical graduate with a Bachelors Degree in music, he is also an accomplished jazz pianist and has played keyboards and piano with a variety of pop and rock groups at home and abroad.

He has performed everywhere from festivals to cruise ships and currently works as a freelance musician based in his native Liverpool. He has been involved with Roland since 2007.

Digital Piano Demonstrator Biography: Roland's Adrian Lord

Adrian is the sales representative for Roland pianos in the North of England and Scotland.

He has enjoyed playing the piano since the age of 6, and his teachers have included David Smith at the Royal Northern College Of Music, and Robert Bell at Colchester Institute.

He also plays keyboards in a rock covers band in the South Manchester area.

At the Gear4Music piano fair Adrian will be demonstrating the SuperNATURAL piano sound engine to be found in the new range of Roland’s digital pianos.

Digital Piano Demonstrator Biography: Yamaha's Chris Wibrew

A professional musician since 1969, Chris has been playing the piano for as long as he can remember. His advanced skills took him on tours to South Africa and Europe, playing the piano across the continents.

In 1972, he entered the Music Industry, joining Modern Music in Basingstoke. Progressing through the ranks, Chris was duly appointed Sales Director in 1973. Modern Music was sold in 2005 to Dawsons Music.

Chris forms part of a highly experienced team of Yamaha product demonstrators who travel the country using their honed sales skills and demonstrative techniques to customers and for training events. Having attended a number of professional sales courses, some most notably in Cincinnati in the USA, in the last five years Chris has established himself as an individual with inspiring demonstrative techniques for products with a sharp eye for sales.

In his spare time, Chris is a private piano tutor, advising people on absolutely anything to do with a piano.
