The Banjo is a stringed-instrument that produces sound via a resonating head, much like a drum skin, stretched over the main body of the instrument. There are several versions of the Banjo. Banjo's typically have 5 strings, however 4-strings and even 6-string 'Guitar' Banjo's are available. The instrument can also be open-back or closed-back for tonal variation.
