Key Features
Dogal Red Label Strings are designed to be similar in tension to gut strings. Dogal achieved this by mixing in a high percentage of carbon to the normally less flexible steel core. Dogal use a high-quality hand winding process and build strings to very high tolerances. This provides excellent intonation with perfect fifths across the strings and a soft touch wherever on the fingerboard you play. The higher contact area from the round core also helps add to the warm and full sound. These strings are particularly recommended for not very sonorous instruments or newer instruments.

Originally a family company, Dogal has its origins in the Brocco family in Venice. They owned a chain of music shops and were agents for prestigious companies such as Bechstein and Steinway. After the second world war, they decided to enter the business of string making after noticing a lack of strings in the market. Their strings used traditional gut as a point of reference and used steel to produce a brilliant and powerful tone without any metallic overtones. Over the whole time the company has been in business, most of the production process has been done by hand.
