As legend has it, the king of Chicago blues - Marion ‘Little Walter’ Jacobs’ - was the first to unlock the Green Bullet's musical potential.

He discovered that when plugged into a guitar amp, the Green Bullet sounded unlike any other microphone. It’s raw, searing sound could cut through the increasingly loud electric guitars of the era. And the humble harmonica was propelled in a dazzling, new amplified direction.

Once Shure learnt how integral the ‘Green Bullet’ had become to the trademark blues sound, they started to fine-tune it. Enhancing the original design specifically for the needs of harmonica players. And now, after a rich, long history, the Shure 520DX is better than ever. And remains the most popular harmonica mic in the world.
