B.C. Rich are the weapons of choice for the indomitable Kerry King for many a year and can be seen (and heard) on Slayer?s most recent outing as part of the Big Four tour. Zoltan Bathory of Five Finger Death Punch is another big name in the B.C. Rich roster of Artists.
As well as these two titans of metal, BC Rich guitars are the weapons favoured by the likes of Brian Fair (Shadows Fall), CJ Pierce (Drowning Pool), Jason Krause (Kid Rock ), Marc Rizzo (Soulfly/Cavalera Conspiracy) and Pat O?Brien (Cannibal Corpse), as well as many others. These truly unique guitars are a force to be reckoned with. Can you tame one of these monsters of metal?
Bolt-on Construction
A number of B.C. Rich guitars use a classic Bolt-on construction. On these instruments a neck (typically maple) is bolted on with 4 screws to the body. This construction offers some added flexibility in the instruments adjustment and provides the option to change the neck in the future.
Rockfield Pickups - Mafia
BC Rich guitars called and asked Rockfield, "We like the turbo series but can you do them with a ceramic magnet also?" they replied, "That's a great Idea! Sure we can, but you have got to use them in everything!" (Rockfield didn?t win that battle but it was worth a shot) The use of a ceramic magnet gives any pickup extra power due to the increased magnetic field that they provide. This feature makes the mafia pickups produce a hotter and thicker tone that's really aggressive and full. The increased low end and thick mids and in your face highs is what rock and roll was built on! Balanced and full of sustain this pickup is a great representation of its namesake, a truly intimidating killer.
Flat Top
Some of the B.C Rich shapes are offered with a flat top. The flat top styling gives a bold and pristine look to the edge of the instrument's shape. Usually when the flat top feature is used, B.C. Rich adds a stripe of single or multi-ply binding around the edge in a complementary color. The binding on a flat top finishes off the edge cleanly and gives a sleek and clean look to the instrument.
