The B.C. Rich Electric Guitar company was founded by the late Bernardo Chavez Rico in 1969. Bernardo was a Los Angeles-based luthier who began his career running a humble shop in the early sixties. By 1972 Bernardo began work on the Seagull, its neck-through construction and heel-less design were innovative features for its time. By 1976, Bernardo released the Mockingbird. Bernardo's eccentric designs and quality craftsmanship led to the interest of some of the most respected guitar players. Several years later came the Warlock. The Warlock's edgy and unique design appealed to the hair-metal culture of the eighties and B.C. Rich saw huge growth and demand. Today, the Warlock and Mockingbird remain timeless designs, among newer models such as the Avenge Son of Beast and Kerry King signature range.
