Universal Audio

Universal Audio was founded in 1958 by recording engineer Bill Putnam Sr. Having worked with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Nat King Cole, Bill Putnam Sr. and Universal Audio have become synonymous with innovative recording products.

The company would be later re-founded in 1999 by Bill’s sons James Putnam and Bill Putnam. James and Bill would continue their father’s legacy by faithfully reproducing classic analog recording equipment; and designing new digital recording tools with the sound and spirit of vintage analog technology.
