The company has entered insolvency and appointed insolvency practitioners. Certain assets, including some stock, branding, and websites, have been sold to Gear4music Limited. The original company, however, still legally exists and remains responsible for its liabilities, but may not have funds to meet them.
Gear4music has purchased certain stock, together with certain intangible assets including websites and trademarks from the Administrators of PMT.
For clarity, Gear4music is not acquiring any part of PMT's trading business, nor any other assets or liabilities, and has no current plans to use the PMT trading name.
The closure of PMT will be felt across the music community. It’s a change that will be felt not only by customers, but by the people behind the brand – and across the wider music community that PMT served for many years.
Like many of you, we were saddened to hear the news. Over the years, we’ve worked alongside the same suppliers, shared industry spaces, and even welcomed a few former colleagues into our team. This moment affects many people – and our thoughts are with everyone impacted.
Unfortunately, if your order was placed with the insolvent company and not fulfilled prior to the asset sale being 11 June 2025, it won't be fulfilled. You may be able to make a claim as an unsecured creditor in the insolvency. Interpath were appointed Joint Administrators of PMT on 11 June 2025. Refunds and returns are the responsibility of PMT, who have entered insolvency. You may be able to submit a claim in the insolvency proceedings.
Gift cards or vouchers issued by PMT are no longer valid. You may be able to make a claim as an unsecured creditor in the insolvency.
If the warranty or guarantee was issued by PMT, it is likely void. Gear4music has no obligation to honour warranties on any item purchased from PMT. If you have a branded product which is still within its manufacturer's warranty period (usually 1-year), please contact [email protected] and we may be able to help arrange the repair of your product.
If you paid by credit card and the value was over £100, you may be able to make a Section 75 claim through your card provider. If you used a debit card, you might be able to request a chargeback. Contact your bank or card issuer as soon as possible. If you paid via PayPal or Klarna or any other credit provider, you may be able to raise a dispute directly with them.
You can contact the Insolvency practitioners’ team at Interpath handling the case. They will provide a form and guidance on how to submit your claim. Please be aware that unsecured creditors often receive only partial repayment, if any. Please arrange to contact Interpath on the details below.
