Professional Design and Manufacture
The Yamaha YHR667 has a hand hammered bell which increases depth to the sound produces. It also gives a long and striking resonance that is required from a French Horn in the modern day orchestra. The layout on this model is much more open which allows a freer air flow through the horn, reducing unwanted restriction when playing loud dynamics.
Double French Horn
Something required from most French Horn performers is the ability to change between the keys of F and Bb. This makes music that would normally be unplayable on a single horn more accessible. This French horn has this ability through the use of the 4th (or Thumb) Key, which can be changed round to play either F or Bb when depressed. This gives
great flexibility for the professional horn player.
Silent String Mechanism
Yamaha include a string mechanism on the YHR-667D Horn for its
silent operation. This is extremely useful when playing quieter passages over its equivalent metal mechanical design. String mechanisms also offer fine adjustment and easy maintenance to the instrument.
Detachable Bell and Sleek Hard Case
One key feature with the YHR-667D is the detachable bell. This makes transporting the Horn to concerts and rehearsals very easy in comparison to full size cases that are cumbersome to carry round. As a result, the included case is much thinner, which makes it much easier to carry around.
Included Yamaha Mouthpiece
The Yamaha Horn includes a Yamaha 30C4. The U shaped cup on this mouthpiece produces a brighter sound and makes it easier to play in the higher register. This is a mouthpiece more suited to the everyday player and a great mouthpiece to accommodate all needs.
