Aged Tonewoods
To ensure the best possible tone, the Concert violin uses a traditional selection of tonewoods. The ribs and back are constructed from instrument-grade maple which has been aged for a minimum of five years, while the top is crafted from close-grain spruce for outstanding projection. The maple is aged naturally to retain its durability and dark tone with complex overtones. This classic combination of maple and spruce results in a versatile sound that works well in all genres and is perfect for performance straight away.
Contemporary Meets Traditional
Wood Concert Violins are traditionally styled instruments with modern performance adjustments. This violin features a body based on a classic acoustic violin, with subtle modern updates. The volume knob is placed conveniently on the underside rib, making it easily accessible when playing and out of the way of your bowing arm. The Concert violin utilises a slightly thicker bridge for enhanced fidelity and to enrich the tone. The Concert series is ideal for musicians who want convenience and comfort when on stage.
Tru-Tone Pickup
The Tru-Tone pickup is known for defining the electro-acoustic violin sound. Perfectly suited for live environments, the Tru-Tone pickups have a high output signal which is ideal for guitar amps. The frequency balance focuses on high-end clarity, while tightening the midrange for a stable, more natural sound. The Tru-Tone pickups are a passive system, making them ideal for live use as they don’t require batteries. The pickup is placed discreetly under the bridge for a clear signal transfer that registers the violin’s body resonance.
Included Case
Included with the Concert Series is a lightweight fitted case to protect your violin when not in use. The exterior of the case is lined with an unassuming black cover, and features a large pocket which is ideal for accessories. The case is sealed with a robust zip, and for added protection has a velcro strap. Capable of carrying up to two bows, the interior of the case also features a smaller pocket for even more accessories.
