Colour Your Sound with Tube Compression
The STAMCHILD is great at level control and creative tone-shaping. Give your recordings warmth, depth, and power. It'll bring an electric guitar to life, add punch to a snare or kick, smooth out your vocals, or squash an entire mix.
It's made for maximum level control with minimum artifacts. The SA-670 minimises unwanted artifacts such as noise and signal distortion to keep your sound clearer, smoother, and more powerful.
Great for any Material
You'll find there's quick attack times, which makes it perfect for capturing transients, and taming sibilance and harsh, spitty vocal consonants. It's also got longer release times. These characters guarantee reliable peak control and a natural-sounding release with minimum unwanted artifacts such as 'pumping'.
This was a characteristic that defined the original's personality for broadcast, cutting, and mastering. For the modern world, the STAMCHILD works well when handling large amounts of punchy bass in genres such as pop, dance, and hip hop.
The SA-670 does great on mix groups, seamlessly wielding together multiple signals and glueing them perfectly to make one cohesive block of audio. At the same time, the SA-670 offers quiet subtle colouration the brings life to a mix.
Simple Set of Controls
Getting great sound is easy. There's minimum controls on the compressor, making it easy to work with and learn. Switches select L-R or M-S operation, and there's also rotary controls with six time-constant 'presets', which selects a different pairing of attack and release times.
Ideally the first two settings are great for pop music, whereas the following two are perfect for classical music.
A More Affordable Replica
A recreation of the original, more accessible to anyone. You'll get the exact classic sound of the original compressor that the SA-670 is based on. Everything has been matched from the sonic characteristics, behaviour, sound, components, and looks to give you a true replica.
There have been some modern implementations, without sacrificing the sound. Stam Audio have changed the tube based power supply to a solid state one, and they have also changed the control amp to a hybrid setup that maintains the tube saturation.
No compromise has been made in parts. Although this is much cheaper than the original, it still sounds the same. How is that possible? Stam Audio work on small margins to make professional gear affordable to anyone, so everyone who has a passion for it can afford it. Every component of every unit is premium quality and carefully selected to ensure their units match or even surpass the quality of high-end boutique gear.
