The spirit of cross-fusion synthesis
Rob Papen says the Blue-2 is a "cross-fusion" synthesizer, but what does this mean? It means the combination of FM, subtractive, phase distortion and waveshaping synthesizer. This makes Blue-2 a powerful tool, that doesn't stick to a single style of synthesis.
Powerful sonic control
One of the most useful features of Blue-2 is the XY pad. In vector synth mode it allows you to morph between four oscillators and without this on you can set various parameters to be controlled vertically or horizontally. The movement of the XY pad can be controlled manually, but you can also automate it by recording your own control, or by using one of the many presets.
Get started easily
As with other Rob Papen synths, there are loads of presets to trawl through in the Blue-2; over 4500 in fact! This will give you plenty of great sounds to work with straight, and lots of ideas of how you might use the Blue-2. As well as this there are wave-forms upon wave-forms to select from, so you can take your synthesis design in a wide range of directions.
