MG155 Firmware update w/ User Definable Firmware Options
A new firmware update is now available for the Morphagene, featuring user definable and a range of new features. The firmware update unlocks new functions and behaviours such as 1 volt per octave control over the Vari-Speed parameter, Gene Synchronised Ramp CV, Audio rate phase/position modulation, Liquid smooth gene windowing and Single-Repeat Microsound-capable Delay and Pitch Shifter. The nine options in total can be hand-picked by you, allowing you to choose which features you wish to add to your Morphagene. Other options include the Record options (RSOP) which allows for voltage-controlled creation of new Splices. The Play option (PMOD) allows you to to switch between Toggled and Continuous Play Triggered options. To update your Morphagene you can download the new firmware from the following link: MG155 Firmware
Tape Machine & Sound Manipulator
The Make Noise Morphagene builds on the success of the Make Noise Phonogene, delivering an innovative way to process audio and manipulate sound. The Morphagene bases its design on the same principle as the Phonogene, providing you with a range of tools and parameters, and allowing you to splice audio as well as re-arrange and create new sounds. The Morphagene uses Reels, Splices and Genes to create new sounds and manipulate existing sounds. The innovative design allows you to search between notes to find hidden sounds, allowing you to make something total original from an existing sound. This takes sampling and audio manipulation to the next level, giving you the ability to create sounds on the fly, ideal for live performances as well as studio work. Recorded audio can be splices and rearranged using the Organize parameter. From there you can change the speed and direction of the sound with the Vari-Speed section.
Innovative Sampling & Audio Processing
The Morphagene combines multiple modules from Make Noise to create this monstrous powerhouse that provides the perfect way to experiment with sound. Each parameter features voltage control, which allows you to easily dial in the required amount, ensuring optimal audio quality and performance value. As well as being able to splice and re-arrange sounds, the Morphagene also includes a built-in granulizer in the form of the Gene-Size and Slide parameter. Further manipulation options include the ability to Slide, Layer or Stagger Genes using the MORPH function. You can also manipulate and process sound in real-time using the |Time Lag Accumulation parameter.
Versatile Connectivity
With a vast range of parameters and audio processing tools, the Morphagene also boasts versatile connectivity including Stereo I/O with Auto Input Leveling for added flexibility. It also features an integrated 24-bit codec that allows you to create 48kHz/32-bit WAV files for optimal audio fidelity. You can import and manipulate sounds directly from an SD card. The recording reel on the Morphagene can last for up to 87 seconds at its peak, and you can record up to 99 splices per reel. Once you have recorded your reels, you can back them up onto a computer using the SD card. The wide range of inputs opens up a whole new world of manipulation with dedicated inputs for each specific tool.
Design & Layout
The ergonomic yet eye-catching faceplate features clearly annotated parameters that allow you to easily find and use tools on the module. Once you have found the parameter you need, a handy line connected to an attenuator or other parameter to display which knob does what. At the centre of the module is the Vari-Speed attenuators, allowing you to dial between speeds with ease. You can update the Morphagene with brand new firmware for expansive functionality. Additionally, the Morphagene comes complete with a blank SD card to get you started straight away.
