The latest ADAT I/O connectivity upgrade for the Scarlett 18i20 delivers a major boost to its flexibility and expandability, making it an even stronger hub for larger studio and live setups. With this firmware update, the 18i20 adds 16 channels of ADAT I/O, expanding its original eight analogue inputs and outputs by an impressive 16 extra digital channels at 44.1 or 48kHz.

This increases the total available to 24 inputs and 28 outputs, providing a perfect solution for complex recording projects, live multi-mic sessions or any setup needing extensive routing options. Additionally, 18i20 users can now enjoy Multi-channel Auto Gain through the Focusrite Control 2 mobile app, which allows them to adjust levels easily from a mobile device without constant trips back to the computer.

Another key improvement is the introduction of Monitor Groups across the 16i16, 18i16, and 18i20, making multi-speaker configurations like 2.1 or 5.1 surround sound easier to control and manage.
