The Pro VLA III uses optical gain control to manage dynamics in a way that sounds natural and controlled. This approach is well suited to vocals, guitars, drums, and mix buses where you want movement without harsh artefacts.
With variable threshold, attack, release, and ratio, you can fine-tune how the compressor responds to different sources. It’s equally comfortable adding light control to a delicate performance or providing steady glue across a subgroup, all while keeping transients intact.
Choose the character that fits your source
The front-panel Voice switch gives you two distinct signal paths to work with. Select the tube option to introduce harmonic warmth using the onboard 12AT7 valve, or switch to solid state when you need a cleaner, more neutral response. This makes it easier to match the compressor to different instruments, mixes, or stages of production. You’re not locked into one sound, which keeps the unit useful across a wide range of sessions.
Refined control for stereo and mastering work
With its extended ratio range down to 1.25:1, the Pro VLA III offers finer control for gentle compression tasks. This is especially useful for mastering-style applications where subtlety matters.
Linked stereo mode has been improved for better channel matching, helping maintain a stable stereo image. Increased headroom and reduced noise also mean you can push signals with confidence, knowing the compressor will not become the weak point in your chain.
Clear monitoring and studio-ready connectivity
Simultaneous metering for input, output, and gain reduction makes it easy to see exactly what the compressor is doing in real time. Independent bypass switches per channel allow quick comparisons while dialling in settings.
Around the back, balanced XLR and jack connections integrate smoothly with professional or project studios, with selectable +4 dBu or -10 dBV operation. A universal internal power supply keeps setup simple wherever you’re working.
