Control your audio matrix
Establishments such as shops, restaurants, clubs, bars, schools, and even places of worship all have different areas where they need to broadcast music, live speech, or pre-recorded public announcements. Each area will have different acoustic properties and the audio output for them will therefore require equalising and adjusting, that’s where the Tascam MX8A matrix mixer comes in. Equipped with eight output channels and an integrated audio interface, the MX8A mixes up to ten different analog and digital sources, including USB stereo, that it can distribute over eight zones of your choosing as well as via stereo USB. To configure and command the MX8A, two included applications are used via USB connection from a MAC or Windows computer, or wirelessly via an Android or IOS device. Tascam MX Connect is used to set up and configure the mixer and each channel in-depth, whilst Tascam EZ Connect is used to give you immediate and easy control over your channel levels without disrupting the pre-sets.
Ultimate DSP power
Offering powerful DSP mixing and routing functions, the MX8A converts analog and digital signals with zero latency, and allows you to fine tune every nuance of the audio distributed through it. For each input, a compressor, a four-band parametric EQ, and an auto level control allow you to shape incoming audio signals to your preference, great for microphone and instrument signals that you want to record. All of the outputs have a dedicated 10-band EQ with a high and low pass filter, this allows you to intricately condition the frequency range of each channel' audio, the outputs also feature a delay and a limiter function that give you the ability to attenuate and perfect the output audio of each zone. Additional DSP features include automatic ducking, and ambient noise reduction that make public announcements and microphone audio clearer for people to hear.
Digital and analog connectivity
Fitted with analog Euroblock inputs and outputs that provide adaptable stereo connection, grounding and a robust physical profile, the MX8A's analog connectivity is ideal for permanent fixtures. An Integrated USB audio interface with a USB 2.0 port on the front of it allows you to connect to your computer so you can record and play digital files. The MX8A matrix mixer also features a digital network Ethernet LAN connection as well as an RS-485 port and an RS-232C connector for further data communication capability.
With The SNTP client-included timer event function, you can automate the matrix mixer to switch through different scenes at specified times. Additionally to controlling the MX8A remotely, you can connect up to eight wall mounted Tascam RC-W100 controllers, up to 200m total cable length away with the RS-485 output. The unit is powered by a standard IEC cable from mains power. The MX8A unit itself is compact, taking up only 1U of rack space, and it is robust, with a frame constructed of sturdy metal panels. The Tascam MX8A Matrix Mixer the ultimate solution to mapping audio to different zones in absolutely any type of establishment or facility.
