Why cardioid?
This version of the Beta 181 comes with a cardioid capsule.
The cardioid polar pattern, which points in one direction, is ideal for a number of specific applications
If you use a pair, it can be used as drum overheads.
Just place each Beta 181 equidistance from your snare on the left and right of your kit.
Acoustic instruments sound clear and natural through this microphone.
And use a pair to capture the sound of a piano in stereo, placing them close to its strings on either end.
