Live Video Synthesis
The ETC is one of the most versatile video synthesizers on the market. Unlike conventional video synths, the ETC can be used for live performances and music videos. It also synchronises to audio inputs, matching the music with your visuals.
Create live visuals, work on a music video and even program your own graphics. This compact video synth provides unparalleled control for audio/visual purposes. The unit support HD video up to 720p, with frame rates up to 60Hz. It also features a HDMI video output for crisp high-definition video.
Pattern Generators – Modes
Creating patterns is made easy with ‘Modes’. Modes are patterns of visuals that can be tweaked using the four knobs and buttons. The modes are designed to respond to audio inputs, by synchronising visuals with your audio.
The modes respond in various ways from rapid-fire animations to smooth, blending sequences. The unit provides control for background colour, as well as control for creating collages from graphics.
Screenshots & Scenes
The comprehensive control panel also includes a scene save button. This allows you to store and recall settings you create. A screenshot button allows you to save the current form as a JPEG image file. The unit comes complete with a 4GB USB drive which can be used to save and recall settings for modes, screenshots and scenes.
MIDI Automation
The ETC Video Synth also includes integrated MIDI connectivity. The MIDI inputs allows the ETC to communicate with external devices or your computer via software. You can use the MIDI inputs to program change messages, save scenes and control visual parameters via CC. The MIDI connectivity allows you easily create synchronised visuals.
Create Your Own Modes
For the more in-depth control, you can program your own modes for the ETC. Using the Critter & Guitari USB WiFi adapter (sold separately) you can turn the ETC into a WiFi hotspot. This allows you to create and edit your own modes from the web browser. Modes are written in Python for the more tech-savvy users.
Compact, Portable Design
The compact design makes the unit highly portable, ideal for live performances and use on the move. The unit is constructed from anodized aluminium with an ABS plastic bottom. The robust construction provides an ultra-durable enclosure with rubber foot pads.
In addition to the MIDI connectivity, the unit includes a ¼-inch mono audio input and a ¼-inch footswitch jack. The footswitch connection allows you to control your visuals via an expression pedal. The unit comes complete with a 9V DC power supply, as well as the 4GB USB drive for storing and recalling settings.
