About Music Man
Music Man boasts a history steeped in guitar gear pedigree. Originally founded in 1971 as Tri-Sonix by Forrest White and Tom Walker, they soon invited the one and only Leo Fender to join the company in 1974.
At his urging, the name eventually changed to Music Man and they set about designing their first product with Leo Fender on board - an early amplifier that combined both valve and solid state technology.
Following on from this, the company designed its first instrument - the iconic StingRay bass. Importantly, a fellow called Sterling Ball aided in the design of this instrument which encouraged him to later purchase the entire company in 1984.
As a result, Music Man is now wholly owned by Ernie Ball, which means you're guaranteed some of the best twangy strings right out of the box!
And not only are the strings premium - but so is the rest of the instrument in its entirety! The StingRay established Music Man as a company that excels in quality and forward-thinking design, and has led to Music Man innovations like quick change pickups, 5-6 bolt necks, low noise pickup designs, and active electronics on bass guitars.
Today, Music Man produce a wide range of guitars and basses which can suit a huge range of musical and aesthetic styles. Their extensive variety of pickup types and electronics means you can find virtually any instrument to meet your needs - and as they all boast the highest level of quality control and componentry, you can be sure they're fit to meet the needs of the most demanding professional.
