The rich sounding body is topped with classic spruce, a tonewood that's widely used for its beautifully balanced and versatile sound. Its crisp articulation, broad dynamic range, and excellent resonance will suit a range of different musical genres. Another great feature of the spruce top is that its sound only gets better over the years. Its sweet sound will only grow with extra depth and dynamics, essentially providing you with a tone that will improve alongside your skill.
Smooth Neck and Comfortable Fingerboard
Coupled with its mahogany body is a matching neck, with a black walnut fingerboard to complement the Luna's sleek black aesthetic. Using mahogany for the neck improves the mandolin's overall resonance, enhancing the tonal qualities of the body and delivering a powerful performance. Mahogany's also very durable, ensuring you'll always have a reliable instrument on hand.
The added walnut fingerboard and the neck's smooth C-shaped profile provides you with excellent comfort. Your fretting hand will naturally cup the neck, no matter where on the fingerboard you are. This lets you enjoy your playing more and opens up the doors to more technical playing styles.
Enhanced for the Studio and Stage
To take your performance to the stage or studio, without the need to mic up every time, the Luna Moonbird is equipped with a classic piezo pickup. This is located in the bridge to fully capture the natural tones of the mandolin, resulting in a beautifully clear and full sound. You also have access to volume and tone controls, letting you fine tune your sound for a more personal performance.
