Quilt Maple & Maple Construction
The Luna Fauna Hummingbird features a striking quilt maple top, which not only offers a stunning aesthetic, but delivers great tonal properties that are ideal for a wide range of genres. With a quilt maple top and maple back and sides, the Fauna Hummingbird produces bright singing highs, a strong upper mid-range, with good sustain and plenty of bite.
Mahogany Neck & Pau Ferro Fingerboard
Constructed from mahogany, the Hummingbird's neck offers resonance and great durability. Many guitar necks are crafted from mahogany, because the wood responds greatly to numerous techniques and styles of play with ease. To provide comfort, the Fauna Hummingbird features a C shaped neck profile, which offers players a comfortable and secure grip, reducing the likeliness of a cramping hand. The neck is topped with a pau ferro fingerboard that delivers a warm, bright, sizzling-sparkle that really shines through when using fingerpicking techniques. Its pau ferro fingerboard also offers a smooth and energetic play and is sprinkled with Luna's exclusive mother of pearl moon phase inlays for added elegance.
Fishman Isys+
The Fauna Hummingbird comes equipped with a Fishman Isys+ preamp, which provides amplified acoustic sound for live and rehearsal environments. Simply plug-in to an amp or P.A system and listen to your acoustic's natural tonal character come alive through this sophisticated and compact system. The preamp features rotary controls for bass, treble, and volume, as well as a phase button, and the added convenience of a built-in tuner for precise and easy tuning. The built-in tuner also features a bright easy-read LED screen for tuning in the darkest of venues and rehearsal environments.
Parlour Cutaway Body
The Luna Fauna Hummingbird features a parlour cutaway body shape, which provides a comfortable playing experience and a well-balanced sound. Due to its small size, the Fauna Hummingbird is ideal for beginners and smaller players that find the dreadnought and jumbo sizes a bit too much to handle. Its small, yet curvaceous body shape produces a soft, intimate tone with a broad dynamic range that is perfect for fingerstyle players.

Luna History
Yvonne Villiers is an accomplished stained-glass artist who envisioned Luna guitars. Her inspiration for a line of guitars designed to maximise playing comfort came from her mother, Hilda Villiers, a bassist for over 40 years. Whilst watching her mum on stage, Yvonne couldn't help but notice the massive struggle her mum had whilst playing. With her mum being petite and using such a heavy instrument, she used to complain of how hard it was to be a woman and try to play these big bass guitars.
Yvonne then questioned if there were others like her mum that struggled with the same problems and pains. She came up with the idea of a woman specific guitar, uniquely tailored to fit their bodies, their hands, and their musical styles. Yvonne moved on to created Luna guitars, a line of guitars made for female musicians of all ages and crafted with luminous visual beauty to engage women's minds and spirits along with their talent.
Yvonne already had brilliant artistic skills and use of colour, she then applied the same techniques as she did with her award winning stained glass work to her new line of guitars. She is known for using rich colours that shimmer and shine with every movement providing an eye-catching design along with the great musical tones Luna guitars deliver. Yvonne's design expertise has led so many men to respond to Luna's well-crafted, spirit-engaging instruments that the company now creates guitars for both female and male musicians of all ages.
