Chambered Spruce Center-Block Bracing
The Gretsch G6112TCB-JR is constructed with a center block structure, creating a semi-hollowed design, making the guitar lightweight, and offering a superb resonance. The spruce Center-Block is especially chambered to minimise weight, producing a spirited and lively tone with minimal body-resonant feedback and enabling a hgh gain performance.
High Sensitive Filter'Tron Pickups
The Gretsch G6112TCB-JR is equipped with two high sensitive Filter'Tron humbucking pickups, located in the bridge and neck position. These deliver a pristine high end, glassy midrange , robust low end and balanced harmonics for tone that blends seamlessly with other instruments. These type of pickups filter out undesirable hum, neon noises, crackle and electrical disturbance that is commonly associated with single-coil pickups. Controlling these pickups is easy with the "G"-Arrow control knobs, that offer independent volume, and a master volume, as well as a 3-position toggle switch for tonal variations.
Bigsby B3C Vibrato Tailpiece
Like many guitars by Gretsch, the G6112TCB-JR features a Bigsby B3C Vibrato tailpiece which offers a smooth tremolo system to create classic sounding pitch bend, providing evenly spread movement across all strings. The Bigsby can be used to create subtle movements in chords, adding extra depth and texture to your sound.
Adjusto-Matic™ Bridge
The G6112TCB-JR also features an Adjusto-Matic bridge, which offers both a great tone and precise intonation with its six individually adjustable string saddles. When combined with the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, the bridge slightly rocks with the vibration of the strings, reducing friction and adding tuning stability. In addition, the pinned ebony bridge base extends slightly beyond both sides of the Center-Block, transferring string energy to the two F Hole-vented body chambers, delivering a rich and full-bodied tone.
Real Bone Nut
The Gretsch G6112TCB-JR features a real bone nut, which maintains its authentic appearance. The main purpose of a using a real bone nut compared to modern materials is due the fact that bone offers excellent resonance and sustain. A bone nut also delivers a very balanced tone, and will last a long time. In addition, this type of nut naturally self lubricates and helps you stay in tune for longer.
