Semi-acoustic bass
Offering the best of both worlds, the Godin A5 delivers an experience familiar to both acoustic and electric bass players. Producing a sound with airy depth and resonance like an acoustic, but with the slim straightforward design and capabilities of an electric bass, you can be assured of the instrument's versatility. A bass that has one foot in both sides, you have the perfect dynamism in your hands.
A sculpted sound
The sonic possibilities are endless. Coming with a low-profile Lace Sensor for incredibly balanced sounds, the Godin A5 also offers a preamp that allows you to control the frequencies in the bass' sound. Featuring Godin's custom electronics that use individual saddle transducers in the bridge, the sound perfectly combines with the preamp system to ensure you have the ability to fully personalise your sound.
Fretless playability
The playability of this instrument is key. Its lightweight chambered body not only allows the bass to excel sonically but it also makes the bass incredibly lightweight, perfect for reducing strain during long performance sessions. The main feature, however, is the luscious, fretless, ebony fingerboard. Opening up a real of new possibilities, the fretless design frees you to flurry from one end of the fingerboard to the other with accuracy and ease, while also creating the opportunity to embellish your sound with extended techniques.
Synth capabilities
The Ultra Bass features a 1/4" output and 13-pin capabilities, which work with a synthesizer and allow you to use a variety of different sounds and control them with a synth volume slider. This versatile function provides an easy recording interface and an opportunity to use powerful music production tools.
