Pivotal design elements spanning the mid-1950s to the mid '60s delve into Fender's roots, preserving the legacy yet keeping it as playable as ever, vividly demonstrating that not only does Fender know where it's come from, it's well aware of where it's going.
The '63 Precision Bass makes way for bold new features, new specs, and a the most meticulous level of vintage accuracy yet. Completely re-imagining the concept of the vintage re-issue, Fender have researched techniques, materials and voices to base the '63 Bass on actual vintage guitars, with the inclusion of the 1963 round-laminated rosewood fingerboard.
The classic seminole red finish commemorates a long-time Fender tradition. Authentic features include a lightweight body and a slightly wider 'C'-shaped maple neck with 20 vintage-style frets and dot inlays.
A three-ply mint green pickguard complements the faded sonic blue finish, as do the mounted chrome pickup and bridge covers, flat-top knurled chrome control knobs, reverse tuners and more.
Authentic vintage sound comes from the vintage-style bridge with threaded steel 'barrel' saddles, and the American Vintage '63 split single-coil pickup.
