The fierce and rich tones of the EVH 5150II are provided by the raw power of the seven JJ ECC83S preamp tubes, allowing players to deliver a wide variety of soundscapes. The valves are designed to work in unison, creating crisp harmonic overtones and piercing high gain saturation to ensure players receive the iconic Eddie Van Halen tone at low volumes. Built to offer sensational high gain tones suitable for heavy rock and metal, crunchy mid gain distortion perfect for classic rock, and even smooth, detailed clean tones, the 5150 III Amp Head delivers incredible versatility with a low noise operation.
EL34 Matched Power Tubes
Additionally, the EVH 5150 Amp incorporates a set of EL34 power tubes, offering the classic ''British'' sound many players love. Its beautifully smooth sonic contours, incredible saturation, and classic sag allows the EVH Amp Head to produce plenty of sustain and versatility to suit a wide variety of playing styles. The use of EL34 tubes ensure players can create stunning distortion at low volumes and deliver a variety of tonal destruction with ease, ideal for rock and metal players.
Three Versatile Channels
Featuring three unique channels, the 5150 III allows you to deliver stunning clean tones, destructive crunch sounds, and epic lead soundscapes without the need to adjust controls during performances. Each channel features controls for lows, mids, and highs to providing excellent tone shaping capabilities, and independent volume and gain controls for quick and easy setups. The universal presence and reverb controls enhance the amp’s sound with extra dynamics and depth, allowing players to create even more tonal possibilities.
Excellent Connectivity
Along with its incredible tonal capabilities, the 50w model of EVH’s 5150 III EL34 Amp Head is equipped with a range of ins/outs to deliver the ultimate performance and a seamless integration into any rig. With its guitar jack input and dual speaker output with selectable impedance, players can connect a range of 4, 8, or 16-ohm speaker cabs in a stereo setup. The amp head also features an effects loop for connecting your favourite stompboxes, a preamp out to directly send your signal to mixers, recording desks, or PAs, and a MIDI in to connect MIDI compatible effects units and floor controllers for external control.
Included Footswitch
Included with the EVH 5150 III is an extremely practical four button footswitch, offering seamless switching between the EVH's three on board channels. Designed with live performers in mind, the footswitch features four colour coded LEDs which provide a reference to which channel is currently selected.
