The JP Range From Sterling By Music Man
John Petrucci's collaboration with Music Man has led to some of the highest performing instruments available for the gigging guitarist. The JP range from Sterling aims to reproduce the playability and versatility of these guitars at a more affordable price point. The JP150 is based on the Music Man John Petrucci Signature Series JP15.
Tonewoods
The JP150 combines the warm tones of African mahogany with the stunning design of a highly figured quilted maple top, here in Sahara Burst and also available in Neptune Blue. With the modern contoured body including a scooped forearm cut, the guitar is comfortable to hold and allows you to get on with the business of playing. The neck is constructed from maple which undergoes a roasting process in order to remove impurities and provide more strength. This leaves you with an incredibly resonant and stable instrument which will hold its tuning and setup extremely well despite humidity changes throughout the year. It also gives the guitar a wonderfully 'played in' feel and means that your left hand will glide up and down the neck with ease.
Easy Access Fingerboard
The roasted maple neck gives the John Petrucci signature both snap and resonance. With 24 frets and a flat 16" radius, this guitar provides an easy playing experience across the whole fingerboard. The 5-bolt neck attachment assists in reaching the top frets of the guitar, and the 25-1/2" scale length with the supplied .010-.046 gauge strings allows for easy string bends and an authoritative tone.
Active Electronics For Increased Tonal Options
The JP150 features Sterling by Music Man designed pickups and an active electronic circuit (requiring 9v battery). This gives you a 12db boost, accessible via the volume control, and can be used to cut through the mix at the push of a button; ideal for those important solos. The combination of humbucking pickups and the active circuit ensures that, just like Petrucci himself, you will be able to achieve a wide variety of tones whether that be distorted riffing, liquid smooth soloing, or crystal clean picking.
Hardware Made For Reliable Performance
The JP100D features a Sterling by Music Man designed "Modern Tremolo" and is designed to provide smooth operation and an excellent ability to return to pitch after use. The guitar has high-quality die-cast locking machine heads giving reliable tuning stability and allowing for quick and easy string changes. These features will ensure accurate intonation and, alongside an easily adjusted truss rod, guarantee that the guitar will stand up to the rigours of gigging and rehearsing.
John Petrucci
As long time guitarist for the band Dream Theater, alongside many other side-projects, John Petrucci is well regarded as one of Progressive Rock Music's living legends. He blends a virtuoso technique with complex and well thought out musical compositions to make a truly individual name for himself. He demands the very best of his instruments to last through repeated world tours and recording sessions. His signature Sterling guitars are a reflection of his attention to detail and the high demands he places on his instruments, both in terms of reliability and versatility.
