Chowny CHB-1
The CHB-1 was the first bass guitar design from Bristol based company Chowny and filled a gap in the market with its short-scale semi-hollow design that offered quality tonewoods and reliable hardware at an affordable price-point. This instrument delivers a versatile dual humbucker setup, mounted to a bright and airy semi-hollow body, with a short-scale neck for easy playability. This is an attractive and affordable bass guitar with its own sound and fantastic playability.
Quality Tonewoods
The Chowny CHB-1 features a maple body with stunning flamed maple top. Its semi-hollow design provides great un-plugged resonance and a bright and airy tonality. An Indian Ebony fingerboard mounted to a maple neck provides articulation and low-end response, along with a smooth playing feel.
Unique Playability & Versatility
After 2017 the CHB-1 features increased top-fret access from its double cutaway design. The short-scale length makes left-hand fingering feel even easier. The body is nicely proportioned will be equally comfortable playing sat down and stood up. The dual humbuckers with dual tone/vol controls and 3 way selector provide a versatile setup that can achieve a wide range of tones and styles of music; see the product videos for a great demonstration of this.
Classy Aesthetic
The CHB-1 really stands out from the crowd with its dual f-hole semi hollow body and its 5-ply binding. The vintage humbuckers pair perfectly with the ebony floating style bridge and gives this guitar a real vintage-inspired aesthetic that will look great at any gig.
