100% Certified Organic
D'Addario is the first brand to introduce 100% Certified Organic reeds for saxophones and clarinets. Items labelled with the "Certified Organic" logo promise no pesticides, herbicides, chemicals or synthetic fertilisers were used in the production of the reeds, while D'Addario's unparalleled consistency and quality continue. The packaging has also been overhauled, with paper being used instead of traditional plastic reed holders, and the small plastic wrappers being recyclable. Perfect for the environmentally conscious, these reeds make a difference to more than just your sound.
The Reserve series of saxophone reeds combine a classic style with modern playability. These reeds feature D'Addario's specific cane, which undergoes thorough checks in order to ensure each reed is of a premium quality. The reeds are made using a digital cutting device, ensuring an immense level of consistency every time.
This series' tonal characteristics include a generally warm sound with balanced frequencies and a stable pitch. The spine of these reeds has been weighted to contrast the narrow rail, resulting in an increased dynamic range. The Reserve series is ideal for advancing musicians requiring a reliable, strong-sounding reed for their instrument.
Different strengths to suit your needs
These reeds are available in a variety of reed strengths, ranging from 2.5 to 5. With this breadth of options, you are able to precisely pick the best one to suit your style. Softer reeds are often easier to play at gentle volumes. They speak more easily and produce a bright sound. Harder reeds produce a darker and louder sound, however, they are harder to blow through and often need a well-developed embouchure in order to get the most out of them. They are great for high register playing though. There's no right or wrong reed strength, it's all about what works best for you - so experiment and you'll find the right one.
