With "ratios" ranging from subtle (1:1-4:1) to extreme (6:1-∞), you'll be able to determine the exact amount your signal is reduced by. Adjust the "threshold" to determine the point at which the compressor engages. You have the control to adjust the "attack", manipulating the time it takes for the compressor to "clamp down" on peaks, and "release", giving you control over the time taken to restore the signal to pre-compression levels.
