OS 1.1.0 update - new sampling slicing, LFO and much more
With OS 1.1.0, the OP-XY evolves into a more powerful and expressive sampler. The highlight is a brand-new sample slicer that lets you cut and play sounds in more creative ways. You can slice automatically by transients for precise drum editing, divide samples evenly with time-based slicing for loop work, or tap in your own slice points for total rhythmic freedom.
The drum sampler now supports parameter locking, making sound design more dynamic and consistent. A new LFO, called Duck, introduces easy sidechain compression that reacts to audio or note data, helping your mixes breathe by making space for kicks or adding movement to pads. Performance updates include refined scene length control for tighter sequencing and a more seamless song mode that keeps the keyboard active while you navigate.
Sound Link allows you to use the same sound across multiple patterns, ideal for live setups. The update also adds delayed scene switching, letting you queue the next scene for smoother transitions during performances. Together, these features make the OP-XY faster, smarter, and more expressive for creative sampling and live music.
Dynamic sequencing for creative control
The OP-XY’s step sequencer provides unmatched control over your tracks, blending precision with creative flexibility. The step-based system allows you to build compositions like layers, giving you total control over timing, texture, and tension. Add variation and energy with punch-in FX, which enable real-time manipulation of sequences, transforming standard loops into dynamic soundscapes. With the ability to adjust and fine-tune each element in your sequence, this feature gives you everything you need to construct intricate arrangements, exactly the way you want.
Using these flexible sequencing tools, you can build and twist your tracks, achieving exactly the sound and feel you intend.
Advanced multi-sampling for richer sounds
The OP-XY’s innovative multi-sampler enhances your music production by allowing you to draw from multiple sample zones simultaneously. This feature means you can blend different samples on the fly, giving each performance or recording session added complexity and depth. Perfect for live settings, this multi-zone sampling brings a new level of texture and richness to your music. It’s also an ideal tool for studio work, letting you stack samples to craft unique tones and rhythms.
This sampling capability lets you effortlessly shape and layer sounds, bringing more dimension to your compositions without needing additional equipment.
Comprehensive connectivity for streamlined setups
The OP-XY’s multi-out port offers robust connectivity options, allowing you to hook up multiple devices and outputs seamlessly. Designed to be the hub of your studio setup, it can control drum machines, Eurorack modules, synthesizers, and pedals from one central interface.
Each of the four available outputs is adaptable, letting you easily switch between different sound sources and devices without missing a beat. This level of connectivity frees you from the usual cable entanglements, so you can focus on creativity instead of technical setups. It’s a streamlined solution for integrating all your gear, giving you fluid control over your entire studio setup.
Motion-based control for expressive performances
The OP-XY brings a fresh, intuitive way to manipulate your tracks using a built-in gyroscope. This feature enables you to control track elements through simple movements, making it ideal for live performances. Want to bring a track in or out on the fly? A quick tilt of the device will do it. This gyroscopic function puts real-time adjustments at your fingertips, adding another layer of expression and freedom during shows or jam sessions. Using motion control to perform adjustments provides an interactive and hands-on approach, making your live sets truly dynamic and engaging.
