DW Drums have been The Drummers Choice® for over 30 years.

DW began life in 1972, when Don Lombardi opened a small teaching studio in Santa Monica, California called Drum Workshop.

DW began life in 1972, when Don Lombardi opened a small teaching studio in Santa Monica, California called Drum Workshop.

In order to help subsidies their expenses, Drum Workshop began selling sticks, books and drums. In 1977 DW bought tooling from Camco Drum Co and introduced the now iconic 5000 series Kick Drum Pedal.

Since 1982 DW Drums has expanded its operation and started building their own drum kits. Through the 80s and 90s, DW kits attracted the likes of Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Sheila E (Prince) and Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters) with kits from the Design Series, Collectors Series and Performance Series. DW Drums also manufactures top quality Snare Drums and Hardware.

Through the years DW Drums have innovated and created many iconic pedals and pieces of hardware attracting artists such as Travis Barker (Blink 182), Aaron Spears (Usher), Shannon Leto (30 Seconds To Mars) and Neil Peart (Rush) to name just a few.
