The Superstar Classic uses 100 maple shells to provide a crisp, balanced tone across the whole kit. The toms, snare and floor tom feature 6-ply construction (4 inner maple plies with 2 outer Lacebark Pine), delivering a warm attack with clean mids. The bass drum uses 8-ply construction, adding extra depth and projection—ideal for genres that demand low-end presence. This setup gives you a responsive feel and reliable sound for both live and studio use.
Star-Mount system boosts sustain
Rather than mounting directly to the shell, the Star-Mount system supports each tom from the tension rods. This reduces shell contact and allows the drums to vibrate more freely. The result is a more open sound with longer sustain—especially useful when you want your toms to cut through in a mix or live setting. It also helps with consistent resonance, no matter how the toms are angled or positioned.
Omnisphere hardware makes setup simple
The MTH600 double tom holder uses Tama’s L-Rod and Omnisphere ball-and-socket design, giving you flexible positioning without slipping.
