Each drum in this kit is built with 100 percent maple shells, offering the kind of deep tone and punchy attack that suits everything from rock to funk. Maple is a classic choice for drummers after warmth, strong projection, and dynamic range. The shell sizes in this configuration – including a 22'' bass drum and a 14” deep snare – provide a versatile setup for both live and studio use.
The rack toms use Tama's Star-Mount System, which attaches to the drum at four points on the hoop instead of penetrating the shell. This design allows the shell to vibrate more freely, giving you clearer, more open tones. It’s a smart feature for players who want maximum tone from every hit, without interference from mounting hardware.
Positioning your toms is easy with the included MTH600 double tom holder. TAMA’s Omnisphere and L-Rod system provides flexible placement options without compromising the drum's tone. The brackets even slide laterally, so the eye-bolts won’t clash when positioning toms close together – useful for tight setups or shared hardware.
Rubber-lined claw hooks on the bass drum help maintain tuning and protect the wooden hoops during long sessions or transport. The low-mass lugs reduce hardware contact on the shell surface, allowing for better shell vibration and longer sustain. These thoughtful design choices help the kit stay sounding its best gig after gig.
