Setting itself apart from conventional audio looping, the Bastl MIDI Looper allows you to loop MIDI messages, freeing you to change parameters when they are looped back. It captures the control information from the incoming MIDI messages, looping it and allowing you to adjust parameters after you’re done. For example, you can play in a melodic piece from a synthesizer and then use the onboard parameters to change the timbre, modulation and more. You can sync the MIDI looper by a MIDI/analog clock or by using the internal clock (tap tempo/free running).
Adjust, edit and connect
As well as being able to change parameters whilst they loop back, you can also process recorded information from the MIDI looper itself. Basic processing is available for transposition, shuffle, loop length, quantisation and more. This added control is perfect for live performances and in the studio, allowing you to adjust your loops at the touch of a button.
The Bastl MIDI Looper also boasts a wide range of connectivity so you can communicate with your favourite gear. There are numerous CV (control voltage) and trigger inputs for seamless integration. The input includes: reset, retrigger, velocity and transpose. You can even connect a foot pedal for hands-free expression.
