Pair of Alnico Classic Humbuckers
Loaded with a pair of Open Alnico Classic Humbuckers, the Epiphone B B King Lucille delivers a powerful yet balanced tone that is ideal for classic rock styles. With its vintage tonality, the Signature B B King yields an excellent blues tone, as well as a sonically pleasing tonal palette. The humbuckers deliver tight, sparkling highs and a deep, full-bodied low end, for a wonderfully versatile tone. The controls include a Volume and Tone each, and the outputs include a 1/4" mono for both pickups, or the neck pickup in Stereo Mode as well as a 1/4" Stereo for the bridge pickup.
Gibson's VariTone 6-Way Switch
The Epiphone B B King Lucille is equipped with a Gibson VariTone, which is a 6-way rotary switch that allows you to choose from a variety of 5 pre-set notch filters and a bypass, in order to sculpt your own tone. The 1st position has full bypass, whilst Position 2 has 5db at 1950 Hz, Position 3 is 12db at 1100 Hz, Position 4 15db at 620 Hz, Position 5 for 18.5db at 360 Hz and finally Position 6 offers 21db at 120 Hz. With a total of 18 unique tonal possibilities, the Epiphone Lucille allows you to shape your own sound for Jazz, Blues, Rock and many more music styles, with ease.
Semi-Hollow Maple Body
The B B King Signature Lucille features semi-hollow construction and is crafted from maple, delivering bright and tight tones with beautiful sustain. The semi-hollow body is made without F-holes, which was a preference of King himself in order to reduce feedback and to get the right combination of tone and volume.
Maple Neck Paired With Rosewood Fingerboard
This Epiphone guitar features a smooth maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard to deliver warm yet bright tones. The maple provides a tight, roundness to the tone, providing bright characteristics and an excellent amount of sustain. The rosewood offers sweetness to the tone, smoothing it out and furring up the harsh edges of the maple. The maple and rosewood combination creates a sparkling, sizzling high-end, an open midrange with a snappy attack, and a thick, firm low-end.
