Key Features
The Yamaha YC88 is built for serious performers who need expressive playability, classic tone, and durable design. At the heart of the YC88 is Yamaha’s Virtual Circuitry Modelling (VCM) engine, which recreates the behaviour of vintage tonewheel organs with exceptional detail. You get four characterful organ styles, plus the ability to tweak key click, rotary speed, and more to shape your perfect sound.
It features nine physical drawbars with satisfying ratchet action and LED-lit stops that help you clearly differentiate upper and lower manual setups. What sets the YC88 apart is its 88-key Natural Wood Graded Hammer keyboard, delivering the weighted, nuanced feel of a concert grand. With a tough yet lightweight aluminium build and pro-level outputs, the YC88 is ready to travel and built to last.

The YC88 uses Yamaha’s NW-GH3 keyboard – that’s Natural Wood, Graded Hammer, triple-sensor action with synthetic ebony and ivory tops. This design accurately mimics the varied weight of hammers across a grand piano, offering a realistic and responsive touch. Whether you’re playing subtle jazz voicings or dynamic classical passages, the YC88 responds with precision and comfort.
With Yamaha’s Virtual Circuitry Modelling engine, you get four distinct organ characters straight away – from clean and new to gritty and road-worn. If that’s not enough, you can customise key click, rotary speaker speed, leakage and more. Nine drawbars give you real-time control, with a tactile, ratcheted feel and LED-colour feedback, so you can quickly spot upper and lower manual settings – even on dark stages.
The YC88 may be built for organists, but its sound library covers much more. Two concert grands, a range of FM-style electric pianos, and versatile synths all come built in. Whether you’re layering sounds or switching sets mid-gig, the simple control layout makes it fast and fluid. No menus, just knobs and buttons that do what they say – so you can focus on the music.
Despite its full 88-key size and wooden action, the YC88 is still road-ready. The aluminium chassis keeps it solid without being too heavy. Professional outputs and dedicated pedal inputs make it easy to fit into any live rig. You’ll also get a Yamaha FC3A foot pedal for added expression right out of the box – everything you need for serious stage play.
