The ESP Original Series FRX CTM features a body crafted from mahogany, topped with beautiful quilted maple to enhance the guitar's natural brightness and creating a unique aesthetic. The mahogany tonewood delivers a soft sonic character, with plenty of grind and bite to keep it well-balanced and create plenty of depth. The guitar’s appealing high end and full, tight low end ensures the overall tonality remains thick and firm, offering plenty of dynamics to accommodate a variety of musical styles.
The Original Series FRX is equipped with a 3pc maple neck and ebony fingerboard, delivering warm, bright tones with plenty of depth and dynamics. The maple provides the overall tone with a rounded quality, creating bright characteristics and an excellent amount of sustain. Its thin U-shaped profile is perfect for speed demons, allowing players to easily reach across the entire fingerboard without losing any comfort. The addition of an ebony fingerboard helps to tighten up the neck’s tone, giving it a defined feel, excellent clarity, and a fast attack. The maple and ebony combination creates a sparkling, sizzling high end, a muscular controlled bass response, and a snappy midrange with extra presence in the lower mids.
The set of Seymour Duncan provides this Original Series ESP with strong tones and plenty of dynamics to accommodate even the harshest playing styles. The Distortion bridge humbucker is designed with massive ceramic magnets and hot coil winding, offering an incredibly high output with a full-bodied tone. Its powerful upper mids provide this guitar with extra cut and grind, allowing leads to scream with wild harmonics perfect for rick and metal. The neck position sports the Seymour Duncan 59, a vintage-voiced humbucker designed to offer versatile tones and a sweet sustain. Selecting this pickup will load the guitar with full lows, boosted highs, and a smooth, open midrange to deliver full sounding chords and a clear, bright attack.
Also equipped with a push/pull pickup coil tap, the ESP FRX Guitar offers a huge amount of tonal options to choose from, ensuring players can deliver the perfect sound for most situations. This function allows players to switch the pickup settings from a standard humbucking mode to a single coil, making it an extremely versatile guitar ideal for live situations when an array of tones are required.
For many years Floyd Rose has been the leading manufacturer and designer of floating, locking tremolos. With a design that has stood strong for over 30 years, the Floyd Rose Original locking tremolo allows you to adjust the string tension and pitch with the removable whammy bar to create unique sounds such as dive bombs. Unlike non-locking tremolo's, the Floyd Rose bridge can make huge changes in pitch but still retain the initial tuning by addition of the locking nut at the end of the headstock.
The Original Series ESP is finished off with a range of high-end components to ensure players receive the best playing experience possible. The Gotoh locking tuners improve tuning stability while reducing string slippage, delivering a truly quick and easy way to tune. Their locking design allows players to ''lock'' their tuning in place, ensuring the guitar remains in-tune no matter the intensity of the performance. The addition of Schaller straplocks protects the guitar against accidental strap release, ensuring players can deliver a powerful performance without the worry of dropping their guitar.
