The YBL-835 has been refined to meet the demands of modern bass trombone performance, whether you’re playing orchestral repertoire, solo works, or larger ensemble arrangements. Its open wrap design and rotary valve system create a free-blowing feel that helps you move through dynamic passages with greater control and consistency. The yellow brass bell produces a rich, focused tone with strong projection, helping your sound remain present without becoming harsh. Combined with the large 14.3 mm bore, this setup supports powerful low-register playing while still maintaining clarity across the instrument’s range.

Greater airflow with improved response

Yamaha redesigned the rotary valve port shape to increase the valve tube volume, helping air move through the instrument more efficiently. The result is a broader, more powerful sound with a smoother response under heavier playing demands. The mouthpiece receiver has also been adjusted so the mouthpiece sits slightly shallower, allowing it to resonate more freely.
