Designed for effortless valve response
The 50A3 features an independent inline double rotor system with Hagmann valves, offering Bb/F/Gb configurations for confident playing throughout the bass trombone repertoire. Hagmann valves are designed with a straighter airflow path than many conventional rotary valves, reducing resistance and helping notes speak more freely. This makes large interval changes, technical passages, and low register playing feel more natural, while the open wrap design further supports smooth airflow. Whether you're performing demanding orchestral works or solo repertoire, the responsive valve system helps you play with confidence and control.
A sound shaped for the concert hall
A one-piece, hand-hammered 241.3 mm yellow brass bell gives the 50A3 the warm, centred voice Bach bass trombones are known for. The large 14.27 mm bore provides the breadth and projection required for symphonic playing while maintaining clarity across dynamic changes. Chrome-plated nickel silver inner slide tubes create a smooth, consistent slide action, helping fast passages feel precise and controlled. Finished in clear lacquer, the instrument gains an added touch of warmth without compromising its focused, projecting character.
Built on Bach's musical heritage
Vincent Bach approached instrument making as both a professional musician and a trained engineer, combining practical playing experience with precision manufacturing. His goal was to create brass instruments that responded consistently while producing a rich, characteristic sound. That philosophy established many of the production standards still associated with professional brass instruments today. More than a century later, Bach Stradivarius models remain a familiar choice in leading orchestras and conservatoires because of their dependable response, balanced tone, and consistent build quality.
Ready for professional performance
Made in the USA, the Bach Stradivarius 50A3 is built for the demands of regular rehearsals, auditions, concerts, and touring. It includes a Bach 1.5G large shank mouthpiece that complements the instrument's large bore design, helping you achieve a full, controlled bass trombone sound from the outset. A durable woodshell case provides dependable protection during transport and storage, making it easier to move safely between home, rehearsals, and the concert stage.
