Small diaphragm condensers are incredible assets for live sound and studio recordings. Thanks to their discrete design you’ll be able to easily place them in tight set-ups without worrying about compromising the quality of your recording. They’re also excellent for preserving transient detail. This is why the likes of Al Schmitt and Steve Albini employ them for drums, acoustic instruments and percussion.
A capsule for every occasion
The SZC-100 is highly versatile. With three interchangeable capsules you’ll be able to instantly adjust and swap to find the sound that’s right for you.
Cardioid provides you with a tight-focused sound. This is brilliant for when you're working in a busy environment as it guarantees excellent off-axis rejection, minimising the risk of unwanted noise and unwanted atmospheric effects.
The Supercardioid capsule is the same as cardioid but has an even tighter pick up pattern. This is great when you’re recording guitar and vocals simultaneously from the same musician.
The Omnidirectional capsule provides a wholly natural sound, capturing every nuance of the space you're recording in. This is also brilliant for reducing proximity effect when close-mic'ing a source.
With a wide frequency range of 30Hz-18kHz, the SZC-100 will faithfully reproduce every last nuance of any performance. Making you feel like you’re just in the room with the artist.
