It delivers the same sonic character found in consoles like the SL 9000 and Duality, combining ultra-clean SuperAnalogue technology with powerful tone-shaping and routing options.

The Super 9000 gives you two distinct mic preamp options straight from SSL’s Duality console. The SuperAnalogue preamp offers ultra-clean gain with high headroom and flat frequency response, giving your recordings full clarity and definition.
The Variable Harmonic Drive circuit adds colour by blending in second or third order harmonics. You can shape the character to match your source, from smooth vintage warmth to harder transistor-style saturation. An Input Flip function routes the VHD circuit to the line input path, letting you apply harmonic tone to DAW returns or synths without needing to repatch.
The dynamics section in the Super 9000 is built around a high-performance VCA for reliable and musical compression. It includes a Fast Attack mode for tighter control and Peak Detect for improved transient response.
The Expander and Gate section comes with variable hysteresis and a hold control, allowing you to manage noise or enhance rhythmic detail with precision. You can place the dynamics section either before or after the EQ depending on your processing needs, giving you more control over how each element of the signal is shaped and controlled.
The Super 9000 includes both the 292 and 242 SSL EQ circuits, known for their distinct tonal shaping. The 292 Pink EQ uses a variable-Q design that gives wide musical curves which become tighter with more boost or cut. The 242 Black EQ uses a constant-Q design that is ideal for more precise sculpting.
Special switching options give you even more flexibility, letting you shift the frequency range of the mid bands or switch between bell and shelf modes depending on the EQ type selected. You also get high-pass and low-pass filters with adjustable routing to the input or sidechain.
The Super 9000 is built for easy integration into modern hybrid studio setups. A balanced insert point lets you connect external gear, and it can be moved from its default position after the input to the end of the signal path before the output trim.
The unit includes an external sidechain input and lets you link sidechains across two units for stereo processing. Input Flip lets you re-route connections without unplugging anything, making it easy to apply saturation or clean gain wherever you need it. These features make the Super 9000 a powerful tool for both tracking and mix work.
