Highly Versatile Granular Sampler Module
The Nebulae is a multi-purpose tool for modular systems. The granular sampler allows you to record, process, rearrange and manipulate audio. You can use the Nebulae Granular Sampler for a wide range of applications from sound design to live performances. Its DSP-core and premium-grade components provide exceptional audio fidelity with high-resolution audio formats. You can use the sampler to time stretch audio, granulize it and experiment with it, with endless possibilities.
The audio input provides you with high-resolution audio ranging up to 48kHz/24-bit. This delivers optimal audio fidelity, capturing every nuance from your music or source audio. You can then use the faceplate controls to manipulate, rearrange and mangle sounds. The phase vocoder audio engine provides elastic audio functionality.
Record via Input or Integrated USB Port
The DSP-core features a dedicated live audio input, which you can incorporate audio sources to record directly to the module. You can use the input to record up to five minutes of audio from virtually any source. You could sample your own voice from a microphone, capture guitar melodies and even incorporate samples from turntables.
In addition to the live audio input, the Nebulae features an integrated USB port. You can use this USB port to incorporate other audio source such as samples or music tracks and even audio stems. An additionally 75MB of stereo audio can be loaded through the USB port. The USB port doesn’t require any special formatting or file name restrictions for added convenience. The module even comes complete with a loaded USB flash drive, to get you started straight out of the box.
Open-Source Design Provides Expansive Functionality
The open-source DSP design allows you to make your module suitable for a range of different functions. It provides you with a wide variety of alternate instruments. You can use the open-source design to turn the module into a reverb, spectral delay or a vintage-style looper. Doing this is simple, all you have to do a load a new file onto the flash drive.
There are multiple templates available for those that are daunted by coding. You can even tweak existing instruments or even the default functions. The alternate firmware files can be programmed using Pure Data, cSound, SuperColider and C programs.
Ergonomic Layout, Versatile Connectivity
The ergonomic layout provides clearly annotated connectivity, allowing you to see at a glance which controls are affected by which patch points. This can be highly useful for making quick changes, and perfect for live performances. It also includes four LEDs which indicate when files are in use.
The Nebulae also features a wide range of patch points and CV connectivity including stereo inputs and outputs. Every control and parameter is CV controllable, with a range of manual switches that accompany some of the patch points such as Record, Next, Source, Reset and Freeze.
