Dynamic Sound
Hagstrom are the original 8-string kings. Mass producing the H8 back in the late 60’s, the bass design was picked up by many Rock icons from the golden era. The H8 survived the 60’s and became a classic style of bass guitar, not just a design for the left field. By reimagining the H8, Hagstrom have given us the opportunity to get our hands on a reissue of this legendary bass.
What sets this bass guitar apart from others is that it has eight strings instead of the standard four. The extra strings play an exact octave up the scale to give your sound more depth and vibrancy. Great for Rock riffs or when you want to get psychedelic. Free yourself from the tracking problems of octave pedals. Perfectly balanced against each other, each pluck of a string pair will ring brightly.
High Quality Build
Tough, great sounding construction. The narrow maple neck with Resinator fretboard gives you a great playing feel. Resinator wood is a composit material that has a lot of the benefits of ebony but with none of the dead spots often associated with an ebony fretboard. It gives you a very stable tone up and down the neck and as its name suggests, adds high overtones and harmonics to help your notes ring.
The all mahogany body gives great clarity and resonance, the double cut away design looks amazing and is such to turn heads. The attractive build of the mahogany body provides an overall warm tone. It help give the H8-II its distinct character.
The truss rod is special too. The H-xpander truss rod provides tension at both ends and allows for a very low action giving it Hagstrom’s unique speed. With a long sustain and round attack, the H-Expander adds to the unique tone of the H8.
Due to the central point of this bass being the eight strings, you need great tuners. The Hagstrom machine heads give you extremely tight and accurate tuning so you will always sound great. This is a bass built to sound great and to be very durable.
Top Class Electronics
Not only is the H8 wonderfully built, it’s also fitted with excellent electronics. To start, the Dyna-rail humbuckers give your playing a very warm and fat low end. This is important to give your playing tonal balance between the low and high strings. It can be split to single-coil mode using the control volume. Every riff and chord you play will come across big and loud.
On-board sliders give you a lot of control over your pick up arrangement. Tone and Mute sliders provide a host of sonic control over your tone. Meaning you’ll always sound the way you want. The H8 is ready to provide its unique vibrant tone to any style you want.
