The Epiphone J-200 Studio EC Left Handed, Vintage Sunburst brings the bold presence of the legendary Super Jumbo to southpaw players in a versatile, stage-ready format. Inspired by the iconic SJ-200, often called the King of the Flat-Tops, it features the unmistakable J-200 body shape with a smooth cutaway for easier upper fret access. The 25.5″ scale length adds snap and clarity, giving chords strong definition while maintaining a full, rich low end that fills the room with ease.
A solid spruce top delivers crisp articulation and impressive dynamic range, paired with layered maple back and sides for brightness and focused projection. The mahogany neck features a 1960s SlimTaper D profile for smooth, fast playability, topped with a rosewood fretboard and pearloid graduated crown inlays. Equipped with a Fishman S-Core under-saddle pickup and Fishman Presys II preamp with side-mounted EQ and tuner, it’s built for confident live performance straight out of the included gig bag.

The large Super Jumbo body gives the J-200 Studio EC its commanding voice and expansive projection. With its broad lower bout and square-shoulder design, it produces a powerful low end and wide tonal spread that easily fills a room. Strummed chords sound full and authoritative, while single-note lines retain clarity and separation. The smooth cutaway provides easier access to the upper frets, making it far more versatile than a traditional non-cutaway jumbo for melodic leads and higher-register chord voicings.
The solid spruce top enhances articulation and dynamic response, reacting immediately to changes in attack and touch. It delivers crisp definition for intricate picking and maintains composure under heavier strumming. Layered maple back and sides add brightness and focused projection, helping the guitar cut through in ensemble settings. Together, these tonewoods create a clear, piano-like voice with strong note separation. As the solid top matures with regular playing, it develops increased warmth and resonance without losing its signature clarity.
The mahogany neck features a 1960s SlimTaper D profile that feels quick and comfortable without being overly thin. Combined with the 25.5″ scale length, it offers a responsive feel with added snap and articulation, ideal for confident rhythm work. The bound rosewood fretboard with 20 frets provides smooth fretting and reliable intonation, while pearloid graduated crown inlays reinforce the classic J-200 aesthetic. The glued-in tapered dovetail neck joint enhances sustain and structural stability for dependable long-term performance.
Equipped with a Fishman S-Core under-saddle pickup and Fishman Presys II preamp, the J-200 Studio EC is built for live use as much as unplugged playing. Side-mounted controls include volume, bass, treble and a phase switch, allowing practical tone shaping to suit different rooms and PA systems. The integrated electronic tuner makes quick adjustments between songs simple and discreet. Powered by a 9V battery, the system delivers clear, balanced amplified tone that retains the natural character of the guitar in rehearsal, recording and live environments.
