The ES-355 Futura takes a classic semi-hollow design and adapts it for modern use, giving you warmth without the usual drawbacks. Its layered maple and poplar body produces a rich, open tone with plenty of resonance, while the solid centreblock keeps things controlled when you increase volume or gain. This means you can move from clean passages to heavier sounds without unwanted feedback getting in the way. It still feels lively and responsive, but with a tighter low end and more focused attack, making it far more usable in louder rehearsal rooms, live environments, and studio setups where clarity and control matter.
Flexible tones with extra range
Equipped with ProBucker Ignite humbuckers, this model delivers a clear, balanced voice that works across a wide range of styles. There’s enough output for driven tones, but it still keeps definition and detail when playing clean. The push-pull controls expand things further, unlocking coil split and phase options that introduce brighter, thinner textures alongside the full humbucker sound. This gives you far more tonal variation than a traditional ES-335, making it easier to switch between different genres without needing multiple guitars on hand.
