A 14" x 4" snare drum produces a sharp, focused sound with a crisp attack and a relatively dry, tight tone. The 14" diameter delivers a full, rounded sound, while the shallow 4" depth limits sustain, resulting in a more controlled and immediate response. The tone is typically bright and punchy, with a quick decay that ensures the snare sound remains precise and articulate. The shallow depth enhances the sharpness of the attack, making it ideal for players who need a snare that cuts through the mix without excessive resonance. It offers good projection and a clear, defined sound.

The 0.8mm steel shell produces a bright, articulate, and powerful sound characterised by a long sustain. Known for their clear, cutting attack, steel shells offer a consistent tone that easily “cuts through” mixes, making them highly versatile across musical genres. Compared to wood shells, steel provides greater clarity and definition, with a more resonant and lingering sustain that adds fullness to the sound. The rim shot on a steel shell is particularly sharp and penetrating, making it a popular choice for drummers who play in loud or high-energy musical settings.

Hand-selected snare wires

This snare drum features a 24-strand snare wire that provides a good balance between snare response and shell tone, offering a crisp, snappy attack with an enhanced buzz character. The increased number of strands results in more contact with the bottom head, producing a brighter, more pronounced snare sound. This added contact also contributes to a fuller, more resonant tone that enriches the drum's overall sound. While they emphasise the snare response, 24-strand wires still allow the natural tone of the shell to come through.

Hardware built for durability and sound

1.5mm triple-flange drum hoops offer a slightly less focused, more open, and resonant sound compared to thicker hoops. Their thinner construction provides greater flexibility, allowing the drumhead to vibrate more freely, which enhances shell resonance and contributes to a fuller tone with a slightly brighter character. This gives the drum a more natural, expressive sound, making thinner hoops ideal for drummers seeking increased resonance and tonal complexity.
