About Fender Vintera Series Guitars
Fender's celebrated history is deeply intertwined with the evolution of rock 'n' roll, and the Vintera series is an homage to this illustrious past. The name "Vintera" is a portmanteau of "vintage" and "era", clearly signifying Fender's intent to recapture the essence of their iconic instruments from the '50s, '60s, and '70s.
The Vintera series was launched in 2019, replacing the American Vintage and Classic series. Fender recognised a growing demand amongst musicians for vintage-inspired guitars with modern playability. The company also acknowledged the considerable market for their older models, but these classic guitars often came with a hefty price tag due to their rarity and vintage value.
With the Vintera series, Fender sought to bridge this gap by offering contemporary players a viable and more affordable alternative. These instruments are not just replicas, but are reimagined and redesigned models with the soul of a vintage Fender. They offer a perfect blend of old-school aesthetics and iconic sounds with the comfort and reliability of a modern-day guitar.
With the Vintera II series, Fender have revamped their line-up with upgraded appointments and a more faithful design. All Vintera II instruments have swapped pau ferro fretboards for slab rosewood, feature a wider selection of colours, satin finishes upped to gloss, and neck profiles accurate to each era the guitars are recreating. On top of that, the guitars are loaded with Vintage Tall frets to compensate for the classic 7.25" radius, allowing for expansive string bends without fretting out!
