Yamaha YCL450 Intermediate Bb Clarinet Overview

Start with professional quality. Featuring a body crafted from select grenadilla, the Yamaha YCL450 has an excellent tone perfect for players who are progressing past the grade 5 standard.

Featuring a bell shape and barrel design similar to Yamaha's professional series, the YCL450 has very professional sound with a natural response. The adjustable thumb-rest can accommodate almost all hand sizes. This is a great advantage for student players as it enables them to comfortably develop a proper technique.

For an added touch of luxury, the YCL450 features silver-plated nickel silver keys. Included with the clarinet is a lightweight carry case and a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece so you can start practising straight away.

The Yamaha YCL450 is one of the best options for the advancing clarinet player. Yamaha a redesigned the barrel on the YCL450 to improve intonation and projection. The new design of the barrel has also enhanced the response, tonal focus, and flexibility of the clarinet.

The Yamaha YCL450 Clarinet features silver-plated nickel silver keys for a warmer, softer sound. Also new to the design is an adjustable thumb rest and strap ring which accommodates most hands sizes. This is a great advantage for student players as it helps them to adopt a proper playing technique. As players grow they can adjust this rest to suit their needs.

Grenadilla Wood Body

The Yamaha YCL450 features a grenadilla body, which is regularly used for intermediate and professional level clarinets, due to its highly desired acoustic properties. The Grenadilla wood provides a rich, weighted and focused tone, with enhanced projection. This makes the sound more desirable for the advancing student, over ABS or composite clarinets.

Included Accessories

Included with the Yamaha YCL450 clarinet is a lightweight moulded case. This case offers tough protection for your instrument to ensure it stays in the best possible condition. The case features a large exterior pocket for holding all of your music, and has an adjustable shoulder strap and backpack straps for easy transportation between musical events.

Also included with the Yamaha YCL450 is a 4C mouthpiece. Made from high-quality phenol resin, the 4C features a design inspired by the Yamaha Custom series. The 4C offers consistent playing technique and is recommended by teachers as a suitable upgrade for avid students. The facing of this series is shorter than the custom series which makes it easier for beginners to play, and is capable of achieving rich characteristic sounds.
