Traditional tonewoods
The use of maple and spruce tonewoods is a tried and tested combination on quality cellos. These classic materials provide a powerful, focused and centred sound with plenty of body and tonal warmth, whilst also making a strong and durable instrument. The woods are hand-selected based on their age, seasoned, and then hand-carved. This results in a cello which looks beautiful and is very hard-wearing, helping the player develop their own unique sound.
Gold level set up
Each Eastman Concertante Cello goes through a gold level set-up, which ensures that the instrument is ready to go as soon as you receive it. Larsen Strings have been selected for their incredible power and expression. The instrument is completely stripped down and the nut is filed to the optimum height and spacing for the Larsen Strings and instrument. This results in ease of play whilst producing the maximum amount of resonance and projection. For more information on Larsen Strings, please click on the PDF Factsheet below the main product image.
Larsen Original strings
These strings are fast becoming the go-to option for professionals, offering a quick and simple cello setup. Capable of producing strong projection and versatile sounds, these strings will grant a long-lasting and reliable performance. The A-string has a solid steel core and is wound with precisely rolled stainless steel flat wire. However, the C, G and D-strings are made with an original multi-filament nylon core.
The C and G-strings both have silver flat wire windings, rolled using the same method as the A-string - whereas the D-string comes with aluminium winding, which provides flexibility to the overall sound as well as comfort during play.
Premium case and bow
The Eastman Concertante cello comes with a robust young polycarbonate cello case which provides incredible protection. The Orchestra octagonal brazilwood bow with silver mountings is a high-level bow of incredible quality to compliment the tonal characteristics of the Concertante cello. Evenly balanced and lightweight, this bow completes the Concertante outfit.
