The Buffet Prodige Pocket Clarinet is a compact practice instrument for young players preparing for a Bb clarinet. Created by Buffet Crampon, a French maker with a long history of crafting professional woodwind instruments, it gives beginners an authentic introduction to clarinet playing. Using a genuine Bb clarinet mouthpiece and a grenadilla body, it produces sound in the same way as a standard single-reed instrument, helping children build embouchure and breath control from the very beginning. Its lightweight design and adjustable thumb rest also make it easier to hold, encouraging a comfortable playing position as technique develops.

Designed after three years of acoustic research carried out in partnership with the LIAMFI acoustics laboratory, the Pocket Clarinet offers reliable tuning and a playing experience that helps bridge the gap to a full-size clarinet. 8 toneholes support early finger placement, while the included soft case, mouthpiece, reed, ligature, mouthpiece cap, swab, cork grease, and pencil provide everything needed to get started straight away.
